How to Register
Once you have been accepted into your program you may need to register into your courses online via our registration portal.
For most programs, you register yourself into your courses. In some programs students register into a predefined block of courses, while in others students can choose every course. Please review the lists below to determine what type of registration applies to you.
The 'Plan Ahead' option in Banner Self-service allows you to build your schedule before your registration date. Once your registration window opens, you can register some or all of your courses directly from your plan. Learn more about Plan Ahead.
You do not need to do this if your program is 'block registered'.
Here is how to register.
If you are in a block program, follow the Block Registration Guide for step-by-step instructions.
We recommend using Plan Ahead to prepare your schedule before registration opens.
Some programs use block registration, where your required courses are selected for you.
New students in block programs must register themselves in their assigned block through their myOkanagan account.
If you are in a block program, follow the Block Registration Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Returning students will be registered in their block courses by Okanagan College. For example, students entering Year 2 will be registered for their Year 2 block courses.
Depending on your program, you may be registered in all courses for your program, or only in your first-year courses.
More information on how the waitlisting process works at Okanagan College can be found here.

How to Build your Schedule (Plan Ahead)
What is Plan Ahead
The 'Plan Ahead' option in Banner Self-service allows you to build your schedule before your registration date. Once your registration window opens, you can register some or all of your courses directly from your plan.
This feature allows students to browse the class schedule, select classes, and save the plan for upcoming registration. You can save up to five plans.
Important note: Creating a plan does not check for holds, prerequisites, co-requisites, or anything that might prevent registration.
